Celebrating Poetry and Collage for Escribe Aquí Festival with poet Caridad Moro-Gronlier
Join us from your "virtual studio" for a special event celebrating poetry and creativity with The Betsy Writers Room 2023 Escribe Aquí / Write Here Festival. Collage and Connect is an hour to connect to your own creativity through the art of collage, offering time to sit quietly, work new parts of your brain, and see things in a different way with people from across the globe. We share ideas on how to start making something, tips on artists to look at for inspiration, other online workshops we've enjoyed... or we just work quietly, enjoying the sounds of tearing paper and quiet contemplation. Together we share an hour of collage making.
In celebration of Escribe Aquí, we'll look at the poetry of Caridad Moro-Gronlier, Curator for the Festival. Poetry Foundation offers the explanation that, "Collage in language-based work can now mean any composition that includes words, phrases, or sections of outside source material in juxtaposition." Participants will be provided prompts from Moro-Gronlier's poetry for this event to create visual and/or textual responses as collage.
