Ignacio Font

Ignacio Font, born to Cuban parents in Puerto Rico, moved with his family to Miami, Florida, at age eleven. A year before the move, a visit to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City deeply influenced him, sparking a lifelong passion for art. Ignacio began his formal art education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida International University. Initially a Computer Science major, he shifted to the arts after an Art History professor recognized his talent. He later returned to New York City, where his love for art first began, to earn a Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts.

Currently, Ignacio is working on a new series of paintings exploring the visual frameworks central to his practice. He is also creating site-specific installations featuring photographic abstractions of nature and familiar landscapes. Based in Miami, Ignacio is an artist, educator, curator, and entrepreneur. He co-founded and serves on the board of collaboARTive, an organization promoting collaboration and innovation in the arts.
