Debra and Ken Spurgeon

ARTIST BIOS

Born in Detroit, Debra Spurgeon attended the University of Michigan Fine Arts and The Flint Institute of Art School. Mediums are Glass flame works, stained glass, watercolor and acrylic painting.

The Flint Institute of Art Museum exhibited her watercolor paintings in the Student/Faculty Gallery in 2021 and 2022. Her “Iris” watercolor painting was used in the Art School Catalog in 2021.

Ken Spurgeon is another Michigan native; he owned his own Custom Painting & Wallpaper company for 45 years, and upon retiring decided he wanted to do a different kind of painting. Today, his mediums are acrylic, pastels, pencil, and charcoal.

Debra and Ken recently relocated from Michigan to Miami to be closer to family and are each developing their own artistic practices and connecting with our vibrant arts community.
