MIAMI SHORES FINE ARTS COMMISSION CALL TO ARTISTS

Miami Shores Fine Arts Commission (FAC) Mission: To delight our community by creating a way of life that includes an ongoing encounter and continuous relationship with the arts. We work to transform the ordinary and draw attention to the extraordinary through exhibitions, performances, and art in public spaces.
Solo Exhibition Opportunity, Exhibition Opening April 21, 2023
This is an Open Call for a solo artist’s exhibition in Miami Shores Village, FL., (MSV).
Who: South Florida Professional artists are invited to submit existing work for consideration. This is a six-week exhibition, April 21 – June 2, 2023.
What: All forms of two-dimensional work, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, printmaking, artists books and/or paper-making, photography, fiber art. The work should be framed, mounted or otherwise prepared for installation.
Where: The exhibition’s venue is Brockway Memorial Library (BML), 10021 NE Second Avenue. The Brockway Library (those applicants who do not know it are encouraged to tour the space) can accommodate between 18 and 25 pieces depending upon size; there are multiple display options.
When: Submission deadline is February 28,2023
How: Applicants should submit by emailing a bio and/or CV, an artist’s statement, and approximately 5 to 8 digital examples of work that would be shown. SEE BUTTON FOR LINK TO EMAIL YOUR INFORMATION
THE PROCESS:
Interested artists must respond by February 28, 2023 for review by the Fine Arts Commission. The Fine Arts Commission will review all submissions and select one artist to showcase.
TIMELINE:
Open Call to Artists distribution December 15, 2022
Applications are due by February 28, 2023
The Fine Arts Commission will review submissions and make a selection at its regular meeting, currently scheduled for March 14, 2023
Selected artist will be contacted before March 21, 2023
Artist on-site visit can take place March 23 – April 14, 2023
Exhibition to open April 21, 2023 with artist’s reception that evening at BML.
