Bill Cruz

Bill Cruz is a Miami-born multimedia artist, composer, and musician. His work attempts to reveal the connections that exist in art between the visual forms (the manipulation of space) and the linear forms (the manipulation of time) by utilizing multiple disciplines throughout the process of a work’s creation—regardless of its final embodiment.

In 2023, Bill collaborated with Lissette Schaeffler on Eden’s Bridge, a solo exhibition of a three-part multimedia installation presented at the Deering Estate, where they were Artists-in-Residence during 2020-2021.

Bill’s collective shows include Earthbound, DORCAM (2024), (Hu)mangrove, The Kampong (2024), Chroma Art Film Festival, Superblue (2023), Outside the Lines, The Saladrigas Gallery (2023), and Miami New Media Festival, Laundromat Art Space (2019). As a composer and performer, Bill’s discography includes Three Shades (1998), Spirit Parade (2004), Broken Line (2010), Unspoken (2019), and Corners (2020). He was also featured by the Tribeca Film Festival’s Composer Spotlight for his score for the documentary film Celia the Queen, which was selected by the Library of Congress for its permanent collection in 2023.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Communications from Florida International University.
