Flor Mayoral
Originally, street photography was considered as a way of objectively representing the authentic and true, relegating the artist to the role of representative of the archetype of beauty as a connection with “reality”. The nature of my photographic work, however, is detached from this paradigm to place the images within an open context of analysis and reading. The development and production of my artistic activity does not pretend to belong to an enumerated and chronological account of techniques, trends or schools. This perspective allows, beyond the images themselves, the possibilities of “perception” as a means of expression, as art, or simply as an instrument that examines the universe that surrounds us to finally issue an opinion. For the images presented in this exhibition, I try to place the viewer in an unusual context, at times imagining they are voyeurs in an abandoned space in a city anywhere in the world.
