ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jean Blackwell Font is a Miami-based mixed media artist, arts marketer, and administrator. As a co-founder of Font Squared and collaboARTive, she provides essential marketing services to nonprofit arts organizations and artists, while supporting visual artists in Miami-Dade County through valuable resources. Her work in assemblage, mixed media, and collage uses everyday images and objects to explore the intricacies of the human condition.

Influenced by renowned artists like Betty Saar and Mark Bradford, Jean's art delves into complex themes and emotions, constantly evolving her visual language to express bold ideas. Her storytelling captures universal and personal narratives, crafting a timeless body of work that resonates deeply with viewers.

Jean holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Florida International University and is a member of ArtTable, advocating for women's leadership in the visual arts. She also contributes to Miami-Dade County's cultural landscape by serving on Grant Review Panels. Her artwork is recognized by prominent collectors and is part of the Florida International University Special Collections.
