Terre Rybovich

Terre Rybovich is a third-generation native of Palm Beach County. She is a daughter of Tommie Rybovich, designer and builder of sport fishing boats. She currently lives in Homestead, Florida.

Over the past two decades Rybovich has become adept at intuitive drawing, principally large drawings made with charcoal and pastel or ink. She begins by covering a six-foot sheet of watercolor paper with charcoal. Next, she imprints her body on it. That imprint then reveals unexpected elements and vistas that Rybovich faithfully captures.

She also draws native birds from photos she takes.

Rybovich has drawn all her life and is largely self-taught. She has a Bachelors in Politics and Economics from New York University. And she has a Masters in Rural Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her first career was in philanthropy focused on grassroots community and agricultural development. Rybovich’s work has been exhibited throughout Florida and in Istanbul, Turkey. It is in dozens of private collections and several public ones.
